Care Payment Options

Flexible Payment Options for Quality Home Care

At Five Star Companion Care, we believe families should have clear information about their options for paying for home care. Whether you are paying privately or receiving services through an eligible Pennsylvania program, our Care Coordinators are here to help you understand your options and determine the appropriate next step.

Ways to Pay for Home Care

Five Star Companion Care offers Private Pay services and participates in eligible Pennsylvania home and community-based programs. The payment option available to you will depend on your individual circumstances, program eligibility, and authorized services.

Private Pay

Private Pay allows individuals and families to pay directly for home care services, offering greater flexibility in scheduling, hours, and the amount of care needed.

Private Pay may be a good option for individuals who need care quickly, prefer greater scheduling flexibility, need temporary or short-term assistance, or want additional hours of care.

Community HealthChoices (CHC)

Five Star Companion Care provides authorized home care services for eligible individuals enrolled in Community HealthChoices (CHC).

When services are authorized, our office works with the participant, Managed Care Organization, and Service Coordinator to coordinate care.

OBRA Waiver

Eligible individuals receiving services through Pennsylvania’s OBRA Waiver may receive authorized home care services from Five Star Companion Care.

Services are provided according to the individual’s approved service plan and authorization.

Act 150 Program

Five Star Companion Care may provide authorized home care services for eligible individuals participating in Pennsylvania’s Act 150 Program.

Depending on the participant’s circumstances, a contribution toward the cost of services may apply.

Already Receiving Home Care?

If you currently receive authorized home care through another agency and are considering changing providers, Five Star Companion Care can help you understand the transfer process.

When applicable, our office can work with you, your Service Coordinator, and your Managed Care Organization to help coordinate the transition and minimize interruptions in authorized services.
